have now been in Norway for 40 days and have fully settled into life here.

Things I have done recently: We have just had winter holidays where I visited Røros for a special farmers event, went Slalom skiing at Oppdal and school.

Røros farms event is a very old tradition where the farmers all over the Nordic region travel through small town and provide some of their goods. At this event it was King Harald's birthday so there was more excitement, this created for a very large and special beginning. At this event, I visited Ivar my Rotary councilor and we had some fun looking at the markets.

In the next half of the week, I went to the Downhill sloops with my Second family, it was the fantastic learning experience, I learned about my family and proper Slalom. It was fantastic to learn about my family, I think Hugo my father was extremely interesting as he had many stories about his police days, Mette was very fun to talk to about world issues and her time in Australia, the Host daughter was a competitive board game player (I don't think I have ever felt so angry about bored games before), and the little brother who was getting annoyed at the English that was been spoken. I thought this family was fantastic, interesting and funny. Slalom skiing was very interesting as the slope was very snowy and steep. This created many falls, luckily my family taught me to ski downhill properly.

The school has been very fun as I am loving the class and the social time at lunch. My language here is beginning to become easy to speak, I have found it very fun to learn Norwegian. I do not think Norwegian will be my last language I am very tempted to learn Icelandic and German when I get back to Sydney.
